Put-in on 'Houston' side of the Lake Texana crossing off-59 (south of Houston after passing through nearest town Ganado (Northeast of put-in) and before crossing lake and reaching Edna (Southwest of put-in), boat ramp and parking lot adjacent to 59 northbound side of highway
Take out Same (ample parking)
Up and back, say, 10 miles depending on vigor of paddlers Expect it to be sunny, hot and humid, wind. Contemplate bugs, bring ample water, Birds and alligators, pretty stretch of river unmarred by plastic bags, little marshy ‘coves’ of the river.

Paddle out to sand island south of the put-in, respectful distance if it’s serving as a rookerie.
Reverse and go under highway bridge, up-river 4-6 miles
Reverse & go with the flow
Lunch on or adjacent to river
There are good Barbeque joints and crawfish/seafood spot (Pinchers) on 59 on the way back to Houston
