Hanson boat ramp is approximately 1500 ft north on TX 35 from turn into Hanson Riverside County Park.  

We will paddle upstream to dam, approximately 2.5 miles and determine if there is a portage around the dam.  Based on the findings there will be two options:
    A.  Portage around the dam and go upstream until 11:30.  Lunch and return
    B.  If no portage, return to Boat ramp .  Lunch and based upon time continue downstream or leave.

This is a flatwater trip suitable for beginners.

Participants need to have a signed Houston Canoe Club waiver on file.  Participants who are not American Canoe Association (ACA) members and/or not Houston Canoe Club members must bring a signed waiver  Waivers are at the houstoncanoeclub.org site, click on "Join/Renew..."  and then appropriate waiver form.  Non-ACA, non_HCC member have to pay a $5 fee to join in the fun.
