Old River Christmas Bird Count

We will be counting birds while paddling 15.0 miles on Pickett’s Bayou, the Cutoff, and Old River. We will launch at the Pickett’s Bayou Launch and paddle back to the bridge at Old River. Note that the route may vary due to the high water in the Trinity Delta and possible closure of the Pickett’s Bayou boat launch.

Skill Level: Novice. Generally flat water, but long, and requiring the ability to look at birds, while managing your boat.

Houston Canoe Club events require a current signed waiver for all HCC members. ACA members who are not HCC members are welcome to join us so long as they are card-carrying members of ACA and sign a waiver. Non-HCC and non-ACA members will be required to sign a waiver and pay a $5 fee to cover insurance for the event
