San Jacinto Wilderness Paddle

Full description:  We will be paddling 15 miles plus on Peach Creek, Caney Creek, and the East Fork of the San Jacinto River.  We will launch at the Peach Creek Canoe Launch in Lake Houston Wilderness Park and paddle Peach Creek to Caney Creek, and down Caney Creek to the East Fork of the San Jacinto River, poking around and looking at wildlife as we go.  When we’ve had enough, we will paddle back to the put in to take out.


Skill Level:  Novice.  Generally flat water and pleasant.  May be some power boat traffic around the head of Lake Houston, but not too much.  Also, a slight chance of thunder storms and it will be fairly warm.

Houston Canoe Club members must have an up to date Waiver on file, or print one from the website and bring it, signed, to the putin. Members must also have an American Canoe Association up to date membership. Non-HCC members are welcome, must sign a waiver and pay a $5 fee also if they are not card carrying American Canoe Association members. Non-HCC members who are American Canoe Association members are welcome to join on the paddle, must bring your card and sign the HCC waiver. Thank you for your compliance.
