WHAT:
Houston Symphony playing music originally sung by Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald - Concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands.  Should be nice.

PLAN:
Arrive at 6:00 PM and unload in the North Shore Park boat ramp area. Unload your boat and gear and park.  The plan is to get on the water as fast as possible and paddle around Lake Woodlands for an hour+ (4-5 flatwater miles) with a focus on the inlets of the northwest shore, and then be in place for the 8:00 start of the concert.

The Northshore Park gates close at 11:00 PM, and it takes about 15 minutes to paddle leisurely back to the launch site, so we will plan our exit from the concert no later than 10:10 PM to allow enough time to paddle back to base and get loaded up before we are locked in.

BRING "FER SHER":
  • Kayak/Canoe (no kayak rentals available at this time of night.)
  • Light on the stern of the boat (Coast Guard requirement)
  • Paddle
  • PFD

RECOMMENDED / OPTIONAL:

  • Dinner / Refreshments (no glass containers) / snacks
  • The usual Sunglasses, bug spray, hat and safety equipment
  • Anchor System, if you have one
  • Extra Seat Cushioning (optional)
SKILL LEVEL:
Novice+ (All skill levels)
