Brief (one sentence) description: Columbus Loop Memorial Day Weekend Paddle
Full description: This paddle will be on the 6 mile Columbus Loop on the Colorado River. At normal flows, this trip is suitable for paddlers of all ability levels. The put-in and take-out are relatively easy. This is an excellent trip to introduce non-paddling adults or children to paddling. The Club will provide a cake and watermelon for everyone on the trip. Since this is intended to be a beginner friendly event it will be canceled in the event of a high river flow rate or a severe weather forecast.
The shuttle plan will be finalized once we know how many people are participating. Please note that if you have not paddled the Columbus loop since Harvey we are using a different put-in and take out than in the past. Organize your own arrival time so you and your vehicle are ready to shuttle at 9:30 am.
Howell Canoe Livery will require everyone using their launch to sign their waiver. Save yourself time by printing it out and filling it in ahead of time. Howell Waiver
Skill Level: Beginner based on the HCC definitions
