What is this?
Just a piddling around looking at things trip in the Trinity Delta. Distance will be a minimum of 16 miles and if we avail ourselves of any of the side trip opportunities it could be around 20.
Full description: We will meet at the Trinity River Boat ramp on the west side of the river, at I-10. We will shuttle up to Trinity River NWR to put in on Pickett’s Bayou. Our basic route will be down Picketts Bayou to the Trinty at Mark’s Bend, then down the Trinity to the Sulphur Cut, into Lake Charlotte and around to the entry to Mud Lake, through Mud Lake Bayou to Lake Miller, out the Miller lake cut to Lake Pass and back to the Trinity to the take out at the west side of I-10 boat ramp. We can improvise a bit from there, perhaps paddling up Mack Bayou and and back before heading to Lake Charlotte. We’ll see. This is always a nice easy trip with lots to see. Migration should be picking up too.
Skill Level: Novice. Generally flat water, and not overly long. But anything over 10 miles can get tiring.
Meet on the west side (closest to Houston) of the Trinity at I-10
