Newsletter Story Submissions
by John Rich

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize those people who contributed articles and trip reports to the Houston Canoe Club newsletter, The Waterline, in 2011.  The newsletter is only as good as the willingness of people to provide material for it.  Below is a table showing the names of all the people who contributed in 2011, and the number of stories they submitted for publication.  I want to thank each of those people for helping me to make this newsletter what it is.

As you can see from the list, there are only a few handfuls of people who are regular contributors - they are carrying the lion's share of the load for keeping this pubication going.  So I would like to encourage everyone else to join in and send me whatever you've got.  A trip report doesn't have to be long and fancy, just a paragraph and a couple of photos is enough to be of interest to other members.  You don't even have to be a member to have something published here.  If you see something of interest to the membership in a newspaper, let me know about it, and I can at least include a web link to the story.  If you have an idea for a story rattling around in your head trying to get out, put it down on your computer and share it.  I would like to hear from more people in 2012, and I challenge each of you to send me at least one story this year.  Let's all keep this newsletter varied and interesting.

Thank you for your support in the past, and I look forward to hearing from both the regular contributors, and also a lot of new folks, in 2012.
