I am going to do a trip on the Colorado, from La Grange to Columbus on Sunday, April 28. The distance will be roughly 35 miles. The flows on the Colorado are good so we should be able to move along pretty well. This was the terminal stretch of the old CR 100 when it was 100 miles. I am setting it up as a regular trip, so get 1/3 of the way to 100 miles in one pleasant day on the river!

Bruce has informed me that The ramp at SH 71 is closed and the alternative at Howells is closing for the weekend due to excessive high flows expected due to dam releases and rain. In addition to all that, I-10 is closed this weekend at Brookshire for a bridge replacement on FM 1489.
Also, Beasons Park, The old 71 bridge north of Howells and Howell’s are all closed.
WELL, SHOOT. It looks like it would be a fine fantastic day for a 36 mile trip, too. But Maybe safer to go on some other water. So, We are CANCELLING THE La Grange to Columbus trip on Sunday. Sigh
