Suffering from paddling withdrawal? Looks like we will have another cool morning and not-over-the-top-hot day tomorrow, so Armand Bayou, here I come. This will be a very informal trip, meeting at Bay Area Park (7500 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston [Clear Lake area] boat ramp at 9 a.m. Will paddle upstream, perhaps Big Island Slough, most likely Armand Bayou itself.
Despite what the Bay Area Park website says, the gates are open and the putin accessible although the fishing dock is closed. If you'd like to paddle, just show up although if you register I can contact you in case plans change. We're so last minute probably can't earn paddling miles for this one but the usual things apply - must have ACA or HCC annual waiver on file or sign one there. If you're not ACA or HCC member you will have to pay the $5 fee and sign waiver and everyone must wear their lifejackets/pfds.
Estimated mileage, 5-8 and we should be back by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Bring a lunch and plenty of water to drink. Any questions, give me a call. 832 561 3646. Natalie Wiest
