If anyone is going up to North Gessner and 249 to see the purple martin pre-migration mega-flock come in to roost at dusk (it will truly blow your mind!), I can recommend sitting on the patio at Guyaba's restaurant. You can have an adult beverage and dine well while watching one of nature's great spectacles.
Park a ways off, though, and wear a hat, just in case.
