Galveston Bay Symposium – Jan 22-23
Author Last Post

The 11th State of the Bay Symposium will be held at the Moody Gardens Hotel and Convention Center in Galveston on January 22-23, 2020.  Sponsored by the Galveston Bay Estuary Program and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Symposium’s theme will be “2020 Vision for Galveston Bay.”  It provides an opportunity for everyone who has a stake in the health of Galveston Bay to interact and share environmental policy and management successes, report the latest monitoring and research findings, and illuminate the challenges facing Galveston Bay.

The State of the Bay Symposium is so broad-ranging that it is difficult to provide a meaningful summary in only a few words.  Just to get an idea, here is a list of organizations that will be represented during the plenary and lunchtime sessions.  (Yet other agencies and universities will be represented in poster presentation sessions and in oral presentation sessions focused on specific topics related to Galveston Bay.  There will even be a talk about how paddlers are contributing data on flooding in the lower Trinity River Basin.)

Galveston Bay Council

Galveston Bay Estuary Program

Houston Advanced Research Center

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

North American Association for Environmental Education
