Hi, those new to club I am Mary Ellen Zaborowski, also known as Mary Z. Served as
Vice Commodore for three years and lead many trips, including some to the Boundary Waters and Canada. Retired from Houston ISD and being a Native Houston, I decided to live out my bucket list up here in the Davy Crockett National Forest. I fully enjoy waking up to wildlife - deer, hogs ,coyatoes, ever once in a while a gray timber wolf.My neighbor has a cave too on his property. and has a black bear living in it. Bears and Panthers are native to these woods and almost was eliminated. They wear a tracking device around their necks too.My black panther should be coming up from the Neches River to have another. litter of kittens. The birds are abundant, including bald eagles and Coopers Hawks. Watching the various trees leaves changing colors is breath taking.
My place is now a Wildife Refuge and Bird Sanctuary. There are so much to see and do up here. Davy Crockett National Forest, Mission Tejas,Neches River Wilflife and Bird Sanctuary on Hwy 79,Texas Railroad. For all you that fish,Houston County Lake, Lake Palestine,Lake Jacksonville, many rivers, creeks, bayous.I now have one dog and a clowder of cats and kittens.
Come on up and enjoy the fall/winter like weather.
Sincerely yours on the waterways and in the forests of TEXAS,
Mary Ellen Zaborowski
