Come learn about how the soil beneath our feet is connected to the health of our gardens, neighborhoods, parks, watersheds and bayous! Speakers will provide an overview of the science of soils, make connections to everyday applications, and talk about the importance of soils from the backyard garden to city parks and prairies, to flood control applications and agriculture.
Jeff Lowenfels, author of the Award-winning Teaming with Microbes: The Organic Gardener’ Guide to the Soil Food Web, will deliver the keynote address. The cost of registration includes Shipley Do-Nuts for breakfast, Treebeards Restaurant for lunch, and admission to a viewing of the award winning film “DIRT! the Movie” with popcorn starting at 3pm!
