Update on the 2018 Fall Flotilla
Because of flooding at the Goliad State Park, the take-out for the Fall Flotilla will be at the new and improved Ferry Streetlanding a short couple of blocks from downtown Goliad. The San Antonio River Authority and Canoe Trail Goliad partnered to create a great new landing site at the Ferry St. location.
After take-out, please join us for a free lunch sponsored by Coleto Creek Power at SARA’s Branch River Park, between the landing and Goliad’s historic Square. After eating, take some time to explore downtown Goliad. The Square has fun shops, restaurants, and nightlife (https://www.mainstreetgoliad.com/). Also, if beer is your thing, you can hang out at the Goliad Brewery after the flotilla (https://www.facebook.com/GoliadBrewingCompany/). The Brewery is open on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons and features live music in addition to all their great beers.
While you’re in Goliad, take some time to explore our historical sites at Goliad State Park (https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/goliad) and Presidio La Bahia (http://texasindependencetrail.com/plan-your-adventure/historic-sites-and-cities/sites/presidio-la-bahia), which were important in the Texas War for Independence and the development of ranching in the US.
