In recognition of her years of conservation work, Audubon Texas recently presented its 2018 Terry Hershey Award to HCC member Linda Shead. Other recipients of this year’s Terry Hershey Award were Claire Caudill (Memorial Park Conservancy) and Maxine Johnston (Big Thicket National Preserve).
There is more about the award at http://tx.audubon.org/womeninconservation, and the reasons for Linda’s selection at http://tx.audubon.org/conservation/2018-terry-hershey-award-honorees. This is a richly-deserved honor for Linda, and it is very good for our paddling/conservation community.
You can also see the video that was shown as part of the March 29 award ceremony, which includes a clip of a canoe outing on Turtle Bayou featuring several of our HCC members.
