Just received this from refuge manager Stuart Marcus:
The Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge will be closed to all public entry until at least Sept 15 due to widespread flooding. The office located at 601 FM 1011 Liberty, TX is open. The period for accepting hunt applications has been extended to a Sept 9 postmark. The National Public Lands Day cleanup event has been cancelled. Severe flooding at the Champion Lake Public Use Area located at the end of CR 417 may have an extended closure due to possible levee damage and road culvert issues.
