The festival will be on Saturday, April 15. Activities usually include whitewater playing at the falls. There might be a 4 mile moving water paddle from the falls to State Highway 105. I do not plan to attend the festival this year but I might make a trip there some other time. The gate is usually left open for the day of the festival. There will be combination holders there who can give those otherwise qualified the tour necessary to be a combo holder. I am a combo holder so I could do it at another date. Hidalgo Falls is owned by the Texas River Protection Association which protects paddler's access to rivers.
