History of Upper Buffalo Bayou – Jan 30

On Monday, January 30, 2017 geologist and historian, Dr. Dan M. Worrall, will speak on his new book, Pleasant Bend: Upper Buffalo Bayou and the San Felipe Trail in the Nineteenth Century, in the first floor auditorium of the Houston Public Library’s Julia Ideson Building, Central Branch, 500 McKinney Avenue.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Texas Room at the library, there will be a reception at 6:00 P. M. followed by the program at 7:00 P. M.  The event is free and open to the public.

 

Free parking is available on the street after 6:00 P. M. and in the garage under the adjacent Jones Building accessed from Lamar Avenue.  Vouchers for parking in the library’s garage will be available at the meeting.  Contact person for the event is Debbie Harwell, Ph.D., editor of Houston History magazine dzharwel@central.uh.edu .
