24th Annual Trash Bash, March 25, 2017
Author Last Post
Mary Z sent me today a phone message that the Stubblefield Lake clean-up had been cancelled for this year. No campsites are available there or in Huntsville State Park because a tournament will be going on this year. It will probably be necessary to go to other clean-ups.

The date for Trash Bash 2017 is rapidly approaching. There will be 14+ active sites in our area this year. You can find one that is of particular interest to you at Among the popular paddling locations that are hosting Trash Bash events are Armand Bayou to the south and Cypress Creek to the north.

A site on the southeast side of Houston is Kuhlman Gully, a tributary of Brays Bayou, where HCC members have participated in the past. It shows up on the Trash Bash web site as a satellite location for Sims Bayou, but don’t let that throw you off. Kuhlman Gully is one of those “hot spots” where lots of trash tends to be swept during high water events. Signup is at 8:30 on Saturday morning March 25 at 3509 Brock Street.  For more information, contact Amy Dinn at or 713-501-5070.

I just put a placeholder date on our club calendar so folks know this event will be taking place.  HCC has often "sponsored" one or more sites.  Would anyone like to facilitate that?  I'm hoping I may finally make the Bayou LaFourche trip which unfortunately is the same date so unlikely I will be able to attend the Trash Bash.  Surely others will want to participate in the fun and paddle canoes/kayaks to help clean stream banks.
