To provide a brief respite from the day’s often-discomforting news, KHOU Channel 11 has been running a 30-second “Moment of Zen” feature at the end of its 10:00 PM newscast. Noticing that many of these videos invoke images of water, I thought that a clip of a cypress swamp as seen from a canoe should be a good match. The show’s producer agreed with me on this, and a video of what many of us have seen as we emerged from the Mud Lake cut into Mud Lake is scheduled to run at the end of tonight’s news, time permitting. If not tonight, then later in the week. (Not to be confused with the many other water bodies in our area that have similar names, this is the Mud Lake just south of Lake Charlotte.)
